Television Work

Television was always Spears' dream job as the lead anchor for Sports Center. Of course with experience, he cranked up the love for anchoring and analyzing television shows. His first television position was an analyst for UATV Channel 3 Sports (Student-run television station for the University of Arizona and worked his way up to a hosting position. Then Spears took on a sideline reporter and social media managing job with the NCAA sanctioned summer pro-am, the Tucson Summer Pro League interviewing players after games while running Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Spears also received a UA correspondent position with ESPNU Campus Connection, but Spears was never on camera. He instead helped produce ideas for colleagues as well as an ESPNW "Walk-Ons" segment when ESPN's College Gameday was in Tucson for the Arizona-UCLA football game in 2015. The segment featured the insane cookout the producers/directors/on-air talent have the day before showtime. Spears also created videos for FanMedia Network and has done Facebook Live videos before and after every men's basketball game. For samples, click on the sub tabs.
